KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 4 — Outgoing Kedah state executive councillors who previously backed Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir in the state's leadership crisis said today they accept Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah as mentri besar.
They added that it was now imperative for Kedah Umno to regroup and return its focus on administering the state.
Datuk Norsabrina Mohd Noor told Malay Mail Online she expected Ahmad Bashah to maintain the current exco line-up, and that she considers the crisis resolved now that Mukhriz has been removed.
"Everything has been settled. Let's look at the way forward and not talk about the past. We have to look at how to bring up Kedah and develop it," the Bandar Baharu state lawmaker said.
"I don't expect any changes to the Exco. We need to do the contingency work. Best is to continue (with the current line-up)," she added, saying that people should not compare Mukhriz to Ahmad Bashah.
Another Kedah exco known to have backed Mukhriz in the crisis, Datuk Suraya Yaacob said she would accept whatever decision MB Bashah made regarding the line-up of the state administration.
